This looks amazing so far! Thanks for sharing this footage. I hope the game feels as good to play as it looks. :> (I do miss how punchy the original music is but overall my expectations have been more than met omggg)
I am going to go NUTS this summer, waiting for the September release!
I love all of this. But my biggest saddness here in the music. It's too ethereal sounding for the games. It was more in your face and way more fun and exciting sounding, whatever the level would be. They made it too gentle and quiet in almost every level shown off. The music of Spyro is just as much a part of the franchise as the gameplay. I hope this is just to hide it more and not the final product. The music means so much to me personally.
The music actually is dynamic, he changes when you are indoors, outdoors and when you’re about Toto face a boss.
Dunno, just sounds too gentle to me in comparison. I really don't feel the need to make it more 'dynamic' -- it's not like this is a recreation of a realistic game. The original was far more robust and energetic whereas even when they go back outdoors, it sounds far too soft. A good example is the Artisan's, it's ungodly quiet and too ethereal and then Magic Crafters stays in the same quiet tone with little difference outdoors to indoors. Sunny Flight was nailed well. Tree Tops sounds almost entirely different than the original in every way. I really don't think the music needed changing. When VV redid Crash, they kept the music almost exactly the same, not sure why they took it upon themselves to change it so much for Spyro's (considering it's a huge part of the games). There is always a challenging change when making keyboard/computer music to using real instruments (Nathan McCree from the Tomb Raider games is doing that right now) but this is a huge difference. Don't think I'll change my mind unless it truly is different in the full package when I'm sitting at home playing it.
Dis gon be Gud!
